    REGISTER and Join Us in New York December 11-12

    Join leaders across the sports broadcast community for the industry’s preeminent event of the year. If you live and breathe sports on TV, this is the event for you!

    #GALSNGEAR will be joining our colleagues for two amazing events the morning of Monday, December 11:

    SVGW Breakfast – 9-10am – A networking event for women across the industry featuring a keynote conversation led by Sybil Wilkes, of Yosy Media and co-Founder of HBCU Bridge with Ndidi Massay, VP of Workplace Culture and Diversity Initiatives at CBS Sports. Separate breakfast registration is encouraged as seating is limited.

    Diversity & Inclusion Workshop – 10:30am -12:30pm

    10:30-11:30am – Panel: Tequity in Action – A discussion of where we stand and what initiatives are working. Panelists TBD who are leaders across several industry sectors.

    11:30am-12:30pm – Allyship in Action: Working Group Conversations – Attendees will break into groups to share their experiences and dig into opportunities and solutions for allyship across the sector. Topics include:

    • Hiring: How can we add more diverse perspectives to the hiring workflow?
    • Training: What steps can we take to include anti-bias training for employees at all levels?
    • Retention: What are tangible ways to support, retain, and give voice to diverse emerging leaders (without creating the added work of running internal diversity committees)?
    • Product Engineering and Testing: How can women become a bigger part of product engineering and testing? Why is it important to make sure women are involved in all aspects of product and software design, testing, and deployment?
    • HBCU Bridge: Attendees will learn how their companies can get involved with the HBCU Bridge program and help engage a new generation of diverse talent.
    • Veterans in Production: SVG’s VIP program is back in full swing and ready to connect media organizations with military veterans who have the skills needed.

    All events are Tuesdays at Noon ET, one hour, and free. 30 minutes are allotted to the discussion topic, then participants disperse to virtual networking rooms, or demos on the training hub.

#GALSNGEAR Focuses on Technical Innovation

We hosted an informative session on AI and Access to content and creativity, thanks to speakers Sepi Motamedi, Broadcast Marketing Lead at NVIDIA and Carole Pigeard, Director of Global Sales at Newsbridge. We love bringing women with technical saavy to the stage in the Big Apple! The session was followed by a well-attended Happy Hour, sponsored by DELL, NVIDIA and Newsbridge, with fun tech giveaways from those companies as well as TAG and M2A. IBC Wrap Up

GALSNGEAR Sessions Bring Tequity Front and Center

Our speakers at the AI and Ethics panel gave powerful insights, and our Allyship Brunch put the focus on how to bring equity into every aspect of broadcast and media production. In addition, we had more than 40 meetings with vendors interested in elevating their DEIB programming, including joining our Tequity Hub with upskilling opportunities to level the playing field in media tech. More to come!

We had record attendance at our 4th Leadership Summit (2nd in person!) at NAB Show 2023. We were proud to host 100 women across all areas of broadcasting, production and distribution, including 20% women of color. Watch this space for next year’s summit!
