Who We Are
#GALSNGEAR is a movement to bring equity–what we like to call “tequity”–to womxn in media and entertainment. We partner with manufacturers, broadcasters, and other industry groups to lead change by empowering womxn. Our community includes women, whether assigned at birth or not, from all over the globe. There is no membership fee, and we work hard to provide all of our programs at low or no cost. #GALSNGEAR was founded by producer/director and industry leader Amy DeLouise, as an initiative of her production company, DeLouise Enterprises, which, along with many other leading industry sponsors, helps to support our efforts.
Your Personal Data, Why and How We Collect It
In order to maintain our Tequity Hub, our live events, and our e-news communications, we collect personal data that is user-volunteered, such as name, email address, company and position, and any transaction-related information. Our contact form doesn’t store submitted messages anywhere on our site. By submitting information to our contact form, you consent to having that information sent to our mailing list provider, MailChimp, and their servers. Users opting in to our mailing list consent to their names, email addresses, and other provided identifying information to be stored on our mailing list indefinitely. Emails always have an “unsubscribe” option in case you’d like us to remove your data entirely, and Mailchimp automatically complies with those requests.
Events and Event Partners and Sponsors
When you RSVP or purchase a ticket for one of our events, your name, email address, company, and other provided identifying information may be stored within our website’s database, or within the database of our event partner (organizations such as NAB, IBC, AVIXA, etc.) or their database management company. Any tickets that require a purchase fee may have ticket purchaser information received and stored through either our Eventbrite provided, or our event partner’s own online portal and payment system.
Sponsors may from time to time request attendee information to verify attendance levels at our events. While they may use the information for a one-time follow up with you, we strongly discourage sponsors from using this information for ongoing sales purposes. If you believe you have been emailed by one of our sponsors against your wishes, please let us know at galsngear@gmail.com.
For GALSNGEAR programs at large events with partners who use badge scans, by allowing your badge to be scanned by an exhibitor or sponsor that event, you are actively consenting to the transfer of your personal data to us and to that company. You have the right to deny having your badge scanned in order to keep your information private. If you later wish to revoke your data from such a company you must contact that company directly. If you believe you have been scanned against your wishes, please let us know at galsngear@gmail.com.
Live and virtual events may be recorded and distributed for promotional and/or educational purposes. By participating in our events, you consent to your name and/or likeness being recorded and authorize GALSNGEAR exclusive rights of ownership and use of all recordings.
